Our founder Ross approached Timmy Mallett having tried to purchase a Pinky Punky Hammer for his sister at Christmas, and found Timmy’s website wasn’t working.
Frustrated in his attempts, Ross got in touch with Timmy’s management as said ‘look, Timmy is a childhood hero of mine and my sister’s, I am trying to buy merch from you, your website isn’t working - let me know if you need a hand to help fix it?’
A few weeks later, Ross received the call.
“Ross? Timmy Mallett here….”
It was a great call, and by the end of it, Cubby Studio was helping Timmy with a website for his artwork - he is a (cycling) artist as well as a TV personality. So we helped him set up an e-commerce site to showcase his gallery, his artwork, and sell it - and he has used it ever since.
But that wasn’t the end of the Timmy Mallett adventures - we launched the website alongside his book, so several members of the Cubby team (and/or their families) were invited to the book launch alongside Lorraine Kelly, Giles Brandreth and Brian Cox, with Timmy introducing them to all and sundry as ‘his web team’ - he’s just a lovely man.
He sent a framed piece of his art that now takes pride of place in Ross’ living room, he and his wife Linda took us out for dinner… just lovely, kind people that have a warm place in many people’s hearts.
And he even provided an utterly brilliant quote for this website. Here at Cubby Studio, we will always be Team Timmy.
